OK to KILL System SPID (Taskmanger)?

SPID6 (TaskManager, background) is causing some blocks. It
seems to have hung on a batch started several hours.
Is it safe to kill a system process? Will it simply get a
new process?
If no, any other suggestions? I can't stop & restart the
service for several hours.
Thnx

Please reply to the group, not to me!Steve - you can't kill system processes, so yes, you'd need to restart SQL
Server.
