I'm relatively new to Crystal Reports, and have a bunch of reports that are run from a proprietary application. Since the proprietary software people charge a mint for modifications to the reports, and it takes them months to do so, we purchased a copy of CR, and I've been doing modifications to the reports. Now, each report has a data source behind it, generally calling a SQL Server stored procedure. Problem is, the data source is not one we have here (not server name, user, or anything) so I can't log in to it. The stored procedures that are being called are named the same as those in our database, but I just renamed the procedure from one report on our SQL Server(thus the one the report is calling no longer exists on our server), and the report still runs fine! The data in the reports matches our database, but obviously, the stored procedures are coming from somewhere else. So my question is, where the H are the stored procedures being called by this report?Changing the name of the stored procedure wont affect the actual data source because it is only the alias displayed to the user. You can anything here.
To change the actual data source you need to change it from 'Set Location'
