OLAP AS Connection Weirdness

I have a stand alone win2k3 report server(i.e. SQL is not on the box).
RS SP1 is installed
I have a SQLRS report developed in visual studio (also loaded on RS
box) that runs MDX against an analysis services cube. I am using the
OLE DB provider for OLAP services 8.0. (Note that we had to run
ptsfull.exe to get the pivot table service and 8.0 provider to be
available)
I can successfully preview the report in visual studio.
When I upload the report to Report Manger, the report bombs with...
An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted)
Get Online Help
Cannot create a connection to data source 'AAHP'.
(rsErrorOpeningConnection) Get Online Help
Database '<source name>' does not exist.
Am I missing something on the report server?

The report bombs while uploading?
Do you tried to open the AS-DB in the analysis-manager on the reportserver?

can open the AS-DB and cube in Analysis Manger (which is Not on the
report server). I have a role setup that should allow the stored

Jim,
lets have a look into the eventlog of the server where the analysis cube
resides.
Source MSSQLSERVEROLAPSERVER.
If there errors with something like "NT-Authority/Anonymous" your
security-settings on the report-server are not valid (especially the
settings in internet service manager)
If there aren't any errors it become more difficult...Do you run ptsfull on
reportserver either?

I ran ptsfull on the reportserver.
As I mentioned I can connect to the AS server via Visual Studio. As
soon as I deploy the report (using a stored connection or shared
connection) to report manager it won't run. I'm running MDAC 2.8 on the

Yes..i know. You can connect to the AS from YOUR workstation and your
reportserver can't as you wrote.
The problem should be between reportserver and AS-server but wich problem? I
dont know!

Hi, i have a new instalation of RS2000 under Windows 2003 Server SP1 with a fresh reaplied Windows Service Pack 1 and RS2000 Service Pack 2.

My problem is that any page of the report manager with a "OK" button, that button doen't do nothing, it is enabled bu doesn't do any action.

Can't figure this one out

PS: Is did work early on this machine but stop working without notice, or any change at all.

Usuall this occurs due to a problem with ASP.net. Try running the asp.net 1.1 command aspnet_regiis.exe -ir and then aspnet_regiis.exe -s W3SVC/1/ROOT/Reports (change Reports if you do not have the default name).

After this try again, make sure to do a ctrl F5 on the browser to ensure you have the latest scripts.

Still, i can not execute "aspnet_regiis -c" even if it does create the "C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\aspnet_client\system_web\1_1_4322" it exits with " (0x80070005)You must have administrative rights on this machine in order to run this tool."

We have installed SQL Server 2005 with Reporting Service in a Windows 2003 Box. While working with the Reporting Manager through the browser we are gettting a strange problem. Whenever we are making any changes through Reporting Manager and trying to save the OK or Apply button is doing absolutely nothing. The button is enabled and is also getting 'pressed' once clicked but nothing is happening - no errors, no server trips.

In the 'New Data Sources' option whenever we are trying to change an option, we are also getting an Object Not Found javascript error.

We have enabled anonymous access for both Reports and ReportServer web services and the user for that access is a member of the machine's Administrators group. The reporting service configuration also is all green.

Can someone Help!!

RgranadaIf there is an error in the page (E.g Missing Entry) it will be displayed in
the page in Red.
Do you see any Error message in the IE status bar. (i.e other than Done
message)?

Offline Cube Refresh

I am having problems with offline cubes. I am using AS2005 SP1 with all the 6 hotfixes installed. Everything with the cube access is fine and I can use excel to create a local .cub file. My problem comes when I try to refresh the cub file. My understanding is that using the excel spreadsheet which created the cube file hitting the refresh button while the cube is offline should refresh the cub file.

This is where my issues start. I get various messages all pointing to either an OLE DB driver crashing or the .cub file being reported as corrupt.

This doesn't happen every time once in a while with no noticable pattern has anyone else experienced the same problems with refreshing offline cubes?

If you willing to try... Please see if installing CTP of SP2 will solve your problem.

|||Thanks for you help I have now tried installing CTP SP2 but I still have an error when updating that says that the local cub file is corrupt however it is fine to use and only gives the error at refresh. I have upgraded to XL2003 SP2|||

The last suggestion I might have for you:

Try rebuilding your local cube using CTP2.

I have an issue with ODBCJT32.DLL on a Itenium server that Yukon i64 (April
CTP)running on 64 bit Windows 2003 SP1 server. When we try to run a
distributed query that needs this driver SQL gives the following error:
Msg 7403, Level 16, State 1, Line 1
The OLE DB provider "Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0" has not been registered.
I ran component checker and it found ODBCJT32.DLL as registered to system.
However, I realized that MSJET40.DLL is not registered, didn't see it from
comp checker either. So I tried to install MDAC 2.8 SP8 (KB829558-ia64) but
it returns "There is no need to install this SP because setup has detected
that the system is newer than the update you are applying"
Now, my last card is manually register MSJET40.DLL to system. What do you
think? Any insight would be helpful.

However this seems like Win 2003 server 64bit issue. The reason is I don't
see any other ODBC drivers except SQL Native Client and SQL Server.
Normally, when creat a new data source, I would have a list of drivers to
select such as, microsoft excel, access, Fox Pro, etc. I don't see any of
them except two SQL driver. I think this is some thing to do with MDac but
there is no way I can uninstall MDAC and reinstall. Is there any way to do
that?

All what I've seen is UDB/DB2, Oracle, Sybase and SQL Server 64 bit drivers
for 64 bit Windows.

I have 32bit Windows 2003 and 32bit Yukon, I do have all the ODBC drivers
including Excel and Access on that server. Only different between two
servers are 32bit vs 64 bit.

ODBC: SQL_ATTR_CONCURRENCY changing after simple select

The following is the log from an ODBC Test session against a SQL Server 2000 database.
MDAC Ver. 2.7 [SP1 I think].

The point of interest is that the SQL_ATTR_CONCURRENCY setting is changing from SQL_CONCUR_LOCK (READ/WRITE), to SQL_CONCUR_READ_ONLY after the SQLExecDirect() call [I've also tried SQLPrepare/SQLExecute with the same result].

Can anyone please throw some light onto why this happens, and how to avoid it? [It kills my SQLBulkOperations() call to insert values into the table]
